Hiking and Biking Trails
Lucy Park Cyclist
The first concrete hiking trail was built in Lucy Park in 1987.  Since that time there have been another 10 miles of concrete trails constructed primarily along the Wichita River and along Holliday Creek.  Funding is being sought to connect the two existing trail systems between Scott Street and Hamilton Park.  The long term plan is to also connect the trails on the west side of the city.

All of the trails are at least 8 feet wide and some are 10 feet.  They can be used for walking, jogging, bicycling, and roller blading.  No motorized vehicles are allowed except for maintenance, and the Recreation Division's Trail Train.
