Citizen Police Academy
If you've ever wondered what it takes to wear the badge of a Wichita Falls Police Officer you can apply to the Citizen Police Academy for an exciting and memorable introduction to the world of law enforcement.
The Department's Community Services Section offers the FREE course two times a year and invites anyone 21 years and older to apply. You will attend an eleven week course, one evening a week for three hours per session and find yourself on an obstacle course behind the wheel of a police cruiser, firing automatic weapons at the shooting range, witness drug dogs in action, suit up and make split second decisions during Shoot Don't Shoot, tour a prison and learn from officers from the Motors Unit, Identity Theft, SWAT, SCUBA, Crime Scene Investigation, Traffic, Patrol and more.
