The Aviation Division manages the City's operations and responsibilities at Wichita Falls Municipal Airport (SPS) and Kickapoo Downtown Airport (T47). Wichita Falls Municipal Airport is a joint-use airfield with Sheppard AFB and has commercial air service direct to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport provided by American Eagle. Kickapoo Downtown Airport is a general aviation airport, owned and operated by the City since 2000, and is home to over 70 based aircraft. Both airports are an important contributor to the transportation needs of North Central Texas and Southern Central Oklahoma.

Fleet Maintenance works out of the Central Services complex. It is responsible for the purchase of all City replacement vehicles and small equipment. It has a main repair shop with towing service, 17 repair bays for everything from passenger cars to heavy equipment, a small engine repair shop for police motorcycles, mowers and other small equipment, and a welding shop providing repair of refuse containers for Sanitation as well as repair and fabricating assistance to other departments. There is also a service station with self-service pumps, providing tire repairs and replacements, and routine scheduled vehicle maintenance. The fire equipment repair shop is responsible for the repair and routine maintenance on all City fire trucks. The parts room keeps an inventory of most needed parts and searches out the nearest supplier with the best price on one-of-a-kind items. The division goal is to get the equipment back in service as soon as possible. Also, since 1991, Central Services has provided fueling and maintenance for the Wichita County vehicle fleet under a contractual arrangement. The Central Services Complex is located at 2100 Seymour Highway.

The Wichita Falls Transit System provides public transportation for the City of Wichita Falls and its residents. Next day service is available by calling the transit dispatcher. Requests are taken six days a week between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. WFTS will pick-up and drop off passengers anywhere along the routes. Passengers simply flag the driver and board the bus. Passengers can purchase bulk tickets from the bus driver, or from the transit office. Please contact us at 761-7433.

The Traffic Engineering division consists of three major functional groups: Signals, Street lights, and Signs/markings.Additional responsibilities of the Traffic Engineering Division include the maintenance and repair of City-controlled area lighting, ball field lighting, and trail lighting. In addition, the division maintains and repairs the outdoor warning system. Parking control duties in the downtown and hospital districts are also performed by this division.
